In contrast, a mattress may be declared 100% latex and contain as little as 1% rubber. Obviously the higher the percentage of rubber the higher the cost of the mattress as well.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, there is no legislation requiring mattress manufacturers to declare the quality and composition of the latex used; furthermore, there is currently no tool within the consumer&#8217;s reach to help them determine the quality of the latex they are purchasing. The customer then has no choice but to rely on the merchant&#8217;s reputation and seriousness. In any case somewhat loosely it can be said that the softer the latex, the more natural it is. The latex used in our mattresses has a percentage of rubber ranging from 30% to 40%.
